CalDigit VR mini review - off-loading, capture or edit hundreds of giga-bytes

Here's a great solution to off-loading or capturing hundreds of giga-bytes of media on a remote shoot. CalDigit's new VR Mini. A cool portable design, no fan to effect remote sound, connect eSATA, or run bus powered at the same time. A great match for AJA’s Io HD or the new Ki Pro or Express.

The VR Mini supports Raid 0, 1, and JBOD as well as “Span”.

All of this controlled, monitored, and email notified by CalDigit’s RAID Tool.

Hot swappable drives and a RAID 1 configuration provide redundant backup. If a drive fails, it automatically rebuilds that RAID 1 too.

Speed allows playback of every format except uncompressed HD. Editors will love the speed for road work and a jump on editorial or dailies review.
